Naomi Oreskes, co-author of Merchants of Doubt (with Erik M. Conway) visited with SftPublic’s Contemporary Science Issues and Innovations November 18, 2014. She discussed how corporate disinformation campaigns have created public doubt about the relationship between tobacco and cancer, CFCs and the ozone hole, coal and acid rain, and now CO2 and climate change. Dr. Oreskes also talked about her 2014 book with Erik Conway, a novella called The End of Western Civilization.
Dr. Oreskes is also author of book on the long struggle to convince scientists of the reality of tectonic plates.
