Meet Sanjoy Mahajan, Ph.D.

Sanjoy Mahajan, PhD, Associate Professor of Applied Science and Engineering, Olin College of Engineering; and Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Mahajan appeared on SftPublic's Contemporary Science Issues and Innovations August 19, 2014 to discuss Natural Mathematics: Intuition and Insight, his widely praised innovative approach to teaching applied mathematics. His ideas about the importance of intuition and guessing in solving engineering problems are presented in both his books. His message is that we need to apply a more natural kind of thinking when we use mathematics, and even in more general types of problem-solving.
