Meet Alán Aspuru-Guzik, Ph.D.

Contemporary Science Issues and Innovations May 23, 2017

Alán Aspuru-Guzik, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Harvard University. Aspuru-Guzik Research Group. Dr. Aspuru-Guzik's is a theoretical physical chemist. His research focus is broad and quantum-based. It includes the connections between quantum computation, quantum information, and chemistry; energy and renewable energy materials, and methods development for electronic structure theory. One of his major interests is the Clean Energy Project, the world’s largest distributed computing project for calculating the properties of candidate molecules for organic solar cells.

Dr. Aspuru-Guzik appeared on SftPublic's Contemporary Science Issues and Innovations May 23, 2017 to discuss [Green" Batteries for Renewable Energy(http://www.scienceforthepublic.org/coming-events/may-23-green-batteries-for-renewable-energy-how-about-rhubarb)

Dr. Aspuru-Guzik has received many awards, including the Technology Review Innovators Under 35 list for 2013 and American Chemical Society Early Career Award in Theoretical Chemistry that same year. He is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society.
