Meet Amos Winter, Ph.D.
Amos Winter, Ph.D., is the Robert N. Noyce Career Development Associate Professor and the Director of the Global Engineering and Research (GEAR) Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT.
Dr. WInter directs a team at the GEAR Lab at MIT, known for diverse innovations that bring real change to the developing world, including in-home desalination, drip-irrigation, the famous Leveraged Freedom Chair (LFC) wheelchair that can navigate rough terrain: On October 19, 2020, Dr. Winter appeared on Science for the Public's Contemporary Science Issues and Innovations program (via zoom) to talk about his unique lab and its humanitarian commitment: Innovations for the People: The GEAR Lab at MIT.
