Itay Budin was a Harvard graduate student in 2010, who was working in the HHMI-Harvard Szostak Lab when Science for the Public talked with him and Dr. Matt Powner about Advanced Research on the Origin of Life. Itay Budin has since taken a fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley. He has already received a couple of major awards for his outstanding research on the development of the first cell. In the recording here he demonstrated one of his experiments showing how the first cell membrane may have formed.
