Meet Matthew Powner, PhD

In May 2010, Science for the Public visited the Jack Szostak Lab to talk with Dr. Powner and a colleague about Advanced Research on the Origin of Life.

Matthew Powner, PhD is a Lecturer of Chemistry at University College, London in England. He received his PhD in 2009 from the University of Manchester (UK), which was followed by a post as a Research Fellow at Harvard University at the Harvard/HHMI Szostak Lab. Dr. Powner has received numerous awards and honors for his very promising work on the origin of life. His particular contribution is a theory of how nucleotides, essential for the formation of the cell, developed.
